Bridge could be named in honor of Trevor Sims
BATON ROUGE- Wednesday, city leaders will begin discussing honoring a deceased child by naming a bridge for him.
Councilwoman Tara Wicker wants the overpass on North Boulevard between 10th and 19th to be named the Trevor Sims Memorial Bridge.
Sims, 11, died from cancer in October. He was featured multiple times by WBRZ anchor Sylvia Weatherspoon's special series 2make A Difference.
Sims wanted to supply enough food to feed the hungry in the city before he died.
His collection drive collected 34,000 pounds of food.
