Bridge collapse causes school to close in West Monroe
WEST MONROE - The only pathway to Louisiana Delta Community College was blocked because of a bridge collapsing.
The bridge collapsed late Saturday from the weight of a huge machine used for construction. No one was injured in the collapse.
Police Jury Engineer Kevin Crosby says building a new bridge could take weeks.
School officials said school is closed Monday and Police Jury will consider creating a replacement route to get on campus.
