BATON ROUGE - If you're still uninsured, you're running out of time to sign up for healthcare under the Affordable Care Act. The Baton Rouge General wants to help by offering free help to enroll. Mid-City Campus Administrator George Bell joined us on 2une In Tuesday morning with all the details.

"Last year the ACA was passed, and it required that individuals that are able to afford health insurance," Bell explains. "Beginning this year they have to purchase insurance and/or prove they have insurance."

That's why BRG has Insurance Navigators at both its Bluebonnet and Mid-City locations. Bell says they'll help you examine all your options to determine which health plan best meets your needs, as well as what level of assistance you're eligible for.

You can find the navigators in the main lobby areas of both hospitals every Monday-Friday until February 13th from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. For more information, watch the video, or visit the Baton Rouge General website.

Open enrollment under Obamacare ends February 15th. The penalty for being uninsured this year is $325/adult and $162.50 for kids under 18, or 2% of your family's income.
