BRFD puts out fire in vacant apartment unit
BATON ROUGE - Firefighters put out a fire at a vacant unit in a Baton Rouge apartment complex Wednesday morning.
The Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to the fire in the 600 block of Sharp Lane just before 10:30 a.m., and they had it under control in under 20 minutes.
Fire investigators determined the fire started in the kitchen and spread to the dining area of the unoccupied unit. Some personal items belonging to a previous tenant were in the apartment and were destroyed as a result.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire before it spread to other units, and no injuries were reported.
