BATON ROUGE - Lightning struck a tree during this afternoon's storms and traveled into a nearby home, igniting a fire according to the Baton Rouge Fire Department.
Spokesperson Robert Combs said the home on 3021 Margebrook Drive had quite a bit of damage, but no one was home at the time of the fire.
Firefighters received the call around 4:25 p.m., and was under control at 4:45 p.m.
No firefighters were hurt putting the fire out.
