BATON ROUGE - A man employed as BREC's warehouse manager lost his job after he was arrested for stealing $2652 worth of toilet paper from the company.

Baton Rouge police charged Cordell Curtis, 44, with felony theft.

On April 25th, officers on surveillance duty witnessed Curtis putting approxiamately 15 cases of toilet paper in a friend's truck at the BREC Headquarter on Florida Blvd.

The officers then conducted a traffic stop once Curtis' friend drove away.

An arrest report says the two men admitted to six such transactions happening over the past year.

The man who picked up the toilet paper would sell it to whomever would buy it and Curtis would get a cut, the report says.

BREC was notified of the theft before the arrests and called police to investigate the situation.

Curtis was fired immediately after his arrest, according to a BREC spokesperson.

In all, it's estimated the men stole 4320 rolls of toilet paper.
