BATON ROUGE - Police have arrested the second and final suspect in a violent home invasion last weekend.

Michael Lewis was arrested after a fight with Special Response Team Officers who tracked him down at his apartment in Tigerland. Lewis was booked into jail with black eyes and bruises on his lips and face after his scuffle with officers.

Lewis and Lawrence Isaac are accused of breaking into the upscale home of the former owner of the Akasha Foodmart in Tigerland. While inside the home, police said Lewis and Isaac tied business owner Rania Ahmed and her family with duct tape and beat Ahmed's daughter.

WBRZ was first to report the attack Tuesday on WBRZ.com. Ahmed said the robbery of her store in January forced her to lease the store and believed the home invasion a few weeks later, at the end of January, were connected.

Police said a gaming device, games, phones, wallets and a gold ring were stolen from Ahmed's home in Riverbend.

During his arrest, police said Lewis fought with officers and even grabbed a tool belt in a failed attempt to fight-off being taken into custody.
