BATON ROUGE- This weekend hundreds of people will fill up LSU's Pete Maravich Assembly Center to see local stars strut their stuff at Dancing for Big Buddy.

The community stars will dance for charity to provide help and hope for at risk children in the Baton Rouge area. News 2's Rebecca Buchanan was at Ruffino's this morning where some of the dancers were getting their last minute jitters out.

"It kind of brings back some great memories because I took dance classes as a child," said Terrie Thomas, who will be dancing in the competition. "So now being involved in this again brings back some good memories of costuming, being nervous, and getting on stage in front of everyone, but this time it's for a wonderful cause."

The dancers got a chance to meet some of the kids in the Big Buddy program this morning and they said it's a great feeling to know that all their hard-work is going to benefit a great cause.

"It's so inspirational to see these wonderful children and to know that these few months that we're helping out will make an impact on their lives," said Thomas.

The Dancing for Big Buddy competition will be held this Saturday, April 25th at the PMAC on LSU's campus. Tickets are $10 and the event will start at 7 p.m. For more information visit the event website.
