Breakfast with 2une In: Back-to-School Expo
BATON ROUGE- The fourth annual Back-to-Schoo Expo is back in Baton Rouge this weekend. The event serves as a one-stop shop for people looking for supplies and information on the upcoming school year.
Volunteers will be handing out more than 1,800 school supply bags that were donated from people in the community during WBRZ's Stuff the Bus event earlier this month.
The event will also feature multiple drawings for door prizes including free laptop computers. Students from various schools across Baton Rouge will be providing musical entertainment during the event.
The Back-to-School Expo aims to bring the community together in an education-centered environment. The event is a great way for both parents and students to learn about upcoming opportunities that will be offered during the school year.
Various booths will be available offering the following services: on-site student registration, bus route information and much more. EBRPSS employees will also be walking around the expo to answer any other questions parents have.
The expo is taking place Saturday, August 1st from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cortana Mall in Baton Rouge. It will be located right by the mall's second entrance.
This morning on 2une In, News 2's Rebecca Buchanan was at Polk Elementary with some of the events organizers and Indie Plate restaurant.
Indie Plate's chef was cooking up some delicious brain-food to fill students stomachs just in time for the first day.
