Breakdown on bridge causes heavy I-10W delays
BATON ROUGE - A stalled vehicle on the Mississippi River bridge backed traffic up along I-10 and I-12 at the beginning of what could shape up to be a rainy, traffic-filled Friday in Baton Rouge.
BRPD were on the scene shortly after 10 a.m. attempting to move the broken-down vehicle from the left lane, which reopened at about 10:45 a.m.
Heavy congestion stretched from the foot of the bridge to I-10W at Essen Lane, but traffic was flowing with only light congestion by 11 a.m., according to DOTD.
Motorists were asked to use caution driving along the wet interstates, allowing more time to get to their destination and staying further back from vehicles to deal with longer stopping distances.
