BATON ROUGE - The controversy returns, involving the potential breakaway of the Southeast District of East Baton Rouge Parish Schools. The group, One Community One School District held a meeting Tuesday night to educate parents and to ask them to take action. Group leaders asked parents to call and write to legislators.
The group, Local Schools For Local Children is working with legislators to draft a bill that would breakaway ten schools and about 7,000 students in the Southeast region of East Baton Rouge Parish. The bill is expected to be introduced during the upcoming legislative session.
