Breakaway argument over fire board
BATON ROUGE- In what some called a battle to change the dynamics of the push to create the City of St. George, the Baton Rouge Metro Council was to decide on changing three members of the St. George Fire Board but failed to get enough support to make drastic adjustments Wednesday.
Instead of unseating all three, city leaders re-appointed two members and will have to vote on the third position at its next meeting.
There are five members on the board who are appointed to two year terms by the council. The fire chief reports to the board.
