BATON ROUGE - Members of the Baton Rouge Police BRAVE unit and Narcotics Division made nine arrests and seized a variety of drugs, guns and cash during recent busts in the city.

Cpl. Tommy Stubbs said a series of searches and a traffic stop Wednesday netted nearly $80,000 in seized drugs, including cocaine, marijuana, and several types of narcotics. Police also seized several handguns and around $34,000 in cash.

Stubbs said BRAVE officers arrested five people on Oswego Street after looking into complaints of drugs being sold out of a broken-down vehicle. He said officers saw drugs being sold when they approached the vehicle, as well as a number of drugs in plain view inside the car. Investigators also checked the home the vehicle was parked at, and said they found more drugs and guns inside.

Officers arrested the home's resident, 28-year-old Mack Lee; Keandre Hill, 27; Kyrus Mobley, 29; Torrence Tate, 24; and Ronisha Spears, 24, of Baker. Tate was accused of being a fugitive, while the rest faced gun and drug charges.

In a different investigation, Stubbs said a BRAVE officer stopped a vehicle in the 2500 block of Florida Boulevard and found marijuana and weapons inside. The officer accused Donavan Grant, 26, of drug distribution and weapons charges, as well as being a felon in possession of a firearm.

A third investigation led to three arrests after Stubbs said officers with the narcotics division found drugs, firearms, ammo, scales and cash at a storage unit on Oak Villa Boulevard and a residence on E. Tampa Drive. Officers arrested Glenn Marshall, 39; Anthony George, 38; and Glen Bradford, 18, on drug possession and distribution charges. Marshall also faces weapons charges.

All were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail.
