PLAQUEMINE – Police say a Baton Rouge woman has been arrested in the city of Plaquemine for scamming elderly residents of their money.

Police say Latesha Rogers, 37, called an elderly victim in Plaquemine claiming that the victim won $3 million but would have to pay taxes before getting the money.

Rodgers told the victim that she was a lawyer from the Baton Rouge area.

Plaquemine Police arrested Rodgers on Tuesday after she arrived at the elderly victim’s home to try to collect more money from the victim.

Police charged Rogers with felony theft, monetary instrument abuse, theft by fraud and theft of the assets of an aged person.

The Plaquemine Police Department is also looking for anyone else who was scammed by Rogers or someone else in a similar way.
