BATON ROUGE- A local real estate broker has announced to run as a candidate for Mayor-President of East Baton Rouge Parish.

Darryl Gissel announced his candidacy Tuesday morning. Gissel is also the former executive director of the State Republican Party and the special assistant for Governor Dave Treen.

Gissel will run as a citizen-candidate and will be running as an Independent-No Party candidate.

His three campaign co-chairs, who represent different areas of the community, will be announced.
