Somebody in Baton Rouge is a multi-millionaire, thanks to a winning powerball ticket.
The winner has not come forward yet, but there are plenty of people willing to claim the winnings if the ticket holder doesn't want them. Whoever has the lucky ticket this time around could opt to take a lump sum of $45 million before state and federal taxes or the 30 payment installments with a four percent yearly increase.
The convenient store where the winning ticket was purchased will also get a $25,000 prize. News 2's Kristy Davis went inside and spoke with the clerk who sold that winning ticket. She was adamantly reminding everyone who purchased a ticket to remember her if they win.
The winner has 180 days to come forward. Officials at the lottery suggest the winner write his/her name on the back of the ticket to prove ownership.
