BATON ROUGE - Authorities have upgraded charges against a Baton Rouge man accused of throwing his grandmother down hard enough to kill her.

Cpl. L'Jean McKneely said Kendrick Montrell Johnson, 19, was arrested on May 3 and accused of grabbing and throwing his grandmother Joyce Pointer, 61, to the ground while he was in a fight with his mother.
