BR man accused of 14 business burglaries
SLIDELL - Authorities said a Baton Rouge man caught in Mississippi is being accused of multiple business burglaries around St. Tammany Parish.
Investigators arrested Gary Howes, 54, early Wednesday in Tallulah, Miss.
According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office 14 stores around Mandeville, Slidell, and unincorporated parts of the parish were burglarized. They said storefront windows had been smashed and cash registers broken into.
The sheriff's office worked with Mandeville and Slidell police departments to identify Howes as the suspect and track him down.
"We are extremely proud of our agencies' combined efforts to identify and apprehend this suspect so quickly," said St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Jack Strain.
Howes will have to undergo extradition back to Louisiana, where he faces multiple charges of business burglary.
