BR high school football teams get new head coaches
Baton Rouge high school football may have just gotten even more competitive with the announcement of two new hires at local power programs.
David Brewerton is taking over the reigns of the Zachary Bronco football team, leaving his job in Livonia where he just guided the Wildcats to a perfect season and a championship game berth.
Brewerton takes over a Bronco team that was previously coached by Neil Weiner who is now at Dunham.
The Parkview Baptist Eagles also announced that former defensive coordinator Jay Mayet will now become the head coach succeeding long time coach Kenny Guillot who will remain the schools athletic director.
Mayet was a longtime assistant under Guillot and part of numerous state championship teams for the Eagles.
