BATON ROUGE- The Baton Rouge Halloween Parade start time has been moved up due to weekend weather concerns. The parade will now begin at 9:30 a.m. in downtown Baton Rouge.

Festival organizers met with local weather experts, BRPD and the mayor's office before making the final decision to move the event. The parade was originally supposed to roll at 2 p.m.

This year's parade theme is "It's Halloween Witches!" Parade-goers are encouraged to wear a costume and bring non-perishable and canned food to donate to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank.

The GBR Food Bank truck will lead the parade, followed by volunteers pushing shopping carts and collecting food donations along the way.
