BATON ROUGE- Seven flights to and from Baton Rouge to Dallas-Fort Worth were canceled Tuesday because of damage to more than a hundred planes at DFW International Airport.
The storms blew through the North Texas Region around lunch time, dropping hail all over the airport. At least two twisters are responsible for massive damage in towns like Lancaster and Arlington.
About 300 passengers tied to the Baton Rouge area were affected by the cancellations. More than 400 flights across the country found the same fate. Some passengers rescheduled for other cities or days, while others took refunds and rented cars to drive to their destinations.
One man, in town for the Final Four with his son, was forced to wait in Baton Rouge overnight, only to drive to Alexandria in the morning for a late afternoon flight to start his trip back to San Francisco.
At this hour, flights to Dallas are scheduled to start again just after 6 a.m. Wednesday.
