BATON ROUGE - A Baton Rouge area lawmaker is looking for a guarantee of continued support for a statewide trauma network.
State Representative Bodi White, R-Central, serves on the board for the Louisiana Emergency Response Network.
There are already facilities in New Orleans and Shreveport providing emergency treatment.
A center is proposed for Baton Rouge as part of the merger between Earl K. Long Hospital and Our Lady of the Lake.
LA Department of Health and Hospitals Secretary Bruce Greenstein says there are no plans to alter the networks.
The governor's proposed budget does include a ten percent cut to the trauma network next year.
