LIVONIA - A 15-year-old boy was shot in the head early Saturday in a duck-hunting accident in Livonia, according to the Pointe Coupee Sheriff's Office.

Capt. Juge says the boy was shot in the head with a 12-gauge shotgun while hunting in Grosse Tete Bayou. Another 15-year-old swung his gun to shoot at a duck but accidentally shot the victim.

The boy was taken to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and is currently in surgery, according to Juge.
