Bouncer bill introduced
BATON ROUGE - Louisiana State Senator Gary Smith has introduced a bill that requires bouncers and security officers hired to work at bars to undergo special training to prevent the use of excessive force. The training would fall under the guidelines of the Responsible Vendor Program. Smith wrote in his bill that the cost of training cannot be higher than fifty dollars. Smith said there have been a number of high profile, excessive force cases in Louisiana, including the French Quarter, involving bouncers and security officers.
