Both suspects arrested in high-profile bank robbery
BATON ROUGE - East Baton Rouge Sheriff's deputies say they've arrested both men responsible for robbing a Baton Rouge bank last month.
The robbery happened at the Capital One Bank on Coursey Boulevard on July 23. According to the arrest report, as two female employees were approached by two male suspects as they were walking into the bank.
The suspects, later identified as Baylen Trim and BJ McElveen, demanded entry into the vault and ordered the victims to get on the ground. During the heist, one of the suspects loaded a backpack full of money onto his back while the second continued to place the money into a trash can taken from the bank. After the robbery, the suspects fled the scene on foot.
Deputies later recovered the backpack, trash bag and clothing matching the description of the suspects.
Trim was arrested earlier this week and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of armed robbery and being a fugitive from justice in Texas.
