Bookkeeper accused of stealing $500,000 arrested
BATON ROUGE - A Denham Springs woman accused of using her bookkeeping business to steal over $500,000 from one of her clients was arrested in New Orleans on Friday.
Jefferson Parish police say the owner of Accurate Business Services LLC, 40-year-old Kristin Koenig, wrote checks to herself rather than to the companies her Metairie client did business with.
Officer Col. John Fortunato claims Koenig stole the money by changing her client's computer records to convince her client the checks were going to the companies to which funds were owed.
Deputies booked Koenig in Livingston Parish and sent her back to Jefferson Parish where she faces 62 counts of computer fraud, bank fraud, theft, identity theft and monetary instrument abuse.
