Bond set for Dallas rape suspect booked in BR
BATON ROUGE - Sheriff's deputies transported a 38-year-old Texas man accused of raping multiple women in the Dallas-area this summer to parish prison Wednesday.
Court officials say bond for Van Draylan Dixson has been set at $5 million.
US Marshals tracked down and arrested Dixson Tuesday at a motel on Florida Blvd. in Baton Rouge.
Investigators say he has been in town for a day after fleeing Texas on a bus earlier this week.
DNA evidence has tied him to four rape cases in Dallas' Fair Park neighborhood. Police believe he may have attacked as many as nine women this summer.
Dixson is waiting to be extradited back to Dallas.
