Bond more than doubled for Tinder rape suspect
BATON ROUGE- Bond was increased Tuesday for a man accused of raping a woman he met on a smartphone dating app, jail records show.
Jacob Witz is charged with forcible rape and now has a $75,000 bond. After his arrest Saturday, it was set at $35,000.
Deputies arrested Witz, 22, after a woman reported being attacked early Saturday morning. Investigators said the victim contacted them and told them she met Witz using the Tinder dating app and invited him over to her apartment. After talking she said they started kissing, at which point Witz got violent and forced her to have sex with him, slapping her multiple times when she refused.
The attack happened at the victim's apartment on Nicholson Drive.
The victim told deputies Witz forced her to shower afterward, and told her to pretend it didn't happen and not to tell anybody.
