UPDATE: This advisory has been lifted.

IBERVILLE PARISH - A boil water advisory has been issued for residents in parts of Iberville Parish Wednesday.

Customers of the North Iberville Water System living on Highway 386 are advised to disinfect their water before use. The advisory stretches from Highway 77 to the end of Bayou Blue Road, including Lake Alligator and Tom Road.

Residents are advised to follow these steps:
Boil water for one (1) full minute in a clean container. The one minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil. The flat taste can be eliminated by shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one clean container to another or by adding a small pinch of salt to each quart of water that is boiled.

The advisory will remain in effect until further notice from the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals.
