Boil orders lifted for French Settlement
FRENCH SETTLEMENT - Water officials lifted a boil order for the French Settlement system Thursday after they said samples came back clean.
The boil orders went into effect after water line breaks on Tuesday. Schools in the area had to give bottled water to students until the order was lifted.
The French Settlement system was installed in the 1960s and suffers frequent breaks, according to system managers. Work to upgrade a bad section of the line is expected to be finished in February.
