BATON ROUGE- The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals issued a boil advisory for the following systems in response to Hurricane Issac:

  • Schriever Water System (Terrebonne Parish) - interruption in water treatment facility
  • St. John Water District #1 (St. John the Baptist Parish) - system flooded
  • Dalcour Water System (Plaquemines Parish) - system flooded
  • Port Sulphur Water System (Plaquemines Parish) - system flooded
  • East Point-A-La-Hache Water System (Plaquemines Parish) - system flooded
  • Water District #2 (Pointe Coupee, Torbert-Frisco)
  • Terrebonne Parish, entire parish - turbidity issues

West Baton Rouge Parish officials said a boil order has been lifted for the Brusly-Addis area. It was put into place earlier after a tree fell on a hydrant attached to a water main, causing a drop in pressure.

Customers need to disinfect the water prior to using it. They said boil the water for one full minute. If you're unable to boil water, mix 1/8 teaspoon of unsented, liquid chlorine laundry bleach with one gallon of water and let it stand for 30 minutes.
