Boil order issued in Clinton
CLINTON - Authorities in Clinton issued a boil water advisory for people on the town's water supply until further notice.
City workers said a contractor installing fiber optic cables broke a water main, compromising the integrity of the town's water supply.
The town recommended people bring water to a boil and keep it boiling for one minute to disinfect it before consuming it. That includes products with water or that use water, such as fountain drinks, making ice, brushing teeth or using it in food preparation.
Once the water has been tested and found clean by the Department of Health and Hospitals, the town will rescind the boil order.
