IBERVILLE- Officials issued a boil order for water in parts of the parish Thursday afternoon.

The order is for Iberville Parish Water Dist. 3 and includes Hwy. 992-3 (Tenant Rd.) from Hwy. 75 (Belleview Rd.) to Hwy. 1, and all intersecting streets in that area.

It is recommended that people bring water to a boil and keep it boiling for one minute to disinfect it before consuming it. That includes products with water or that use water, such as fountain drinks, making ice, brushing teeth or using it in food preparation.

Once the water has been tested and found clean by the Department of Health and Hospitals, the parish will rescind the boil order.
