Boil order issued for parts of Donaldsonville
DONALDSONVILLE - A boil order is in effect for hundreds of residents in parts of Donaldsonville after a construction crew ruptured a water and gas line Sunday.
Peoples Water Service said everyone living on Highway 1 South from the Payless to the Palo Alto Bridge is urged to boil their water until further notice.
Representatives with People's Water say the lines are fixed and workers are currently flushing hydrants in the area. Testing will begin tomorrow, and if the tests come back clear the order will be lifted.
Water officials advise people to boil water for 15 minutes before consuming it. Stay tuned to WBRZ for updates.
