A boil water advisory is in effect until further notice for a small portion of Ascension Parish's West Bank near Donaldsonville.

A boil order is in effect for Peoples Water Company customers along LA 1 south of Wal-Mart St. to the Assumption Parish line.

The problem stems from a water main break in the area.

A boil water advisory means water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute before being consumed.
