Boil Advisory lifted in French Settlement

The French Settlement Water Company says the broken pipe that broke has been repaired. It was the third boil advisory in the area in two weeks.
Officials say the pipe that keeps breaking is about 1 1/2 miles long and about 45-years-old. The company hopes construction to repair the pipe can begin as early as November and be finished in the spring. Repairs will cost about $175,000, said the company's president, Billy Edrington.
Parents were urged to send kids to school with bottles of water because both schools in the area were under the boil advisory.
The water company says they can't be sure the aging pipe won't break again causing another boil advisory until it is replaced.
