Bogalusa's public graveyards may get more pricey

BOGALUSA - Some Bogalusa residents are upset by at a proposal to raise the price of plots at the two city-owned cemeteries.

They now cost $100 at Bogalusa Cemetery and $150 at Ponemah Cemetery. City officials want to raise the price to $700.

The Daily News reports that the City Council will reconsider the proposal on Jan. 3.

Councilwoman Wendy O'Quin-Perrette says each burial costs the city $650.
