Barataria, La. - The body of a missing man from Jefferson Parish has been recovered from Barataria Bay.
Authorities say two fishermen led them to the body of 64-year-old Louis Adams, of Barataria, early Friday.
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries said that Adams' wife reported him missing Wednesday after he failed to show up for work at a seafood company. The victim regularly went to work in his pirogue to cross a portion of the bay between his house and his workplace.
Authorities said the body was found about half a mile from where authorities believe his pirogue went under. The boat was found Thursday by sonar equipment.
Investigators said they believe that heavy rain and winds on Wednesday are to blame.
An autopsy has been ordered.
