Body of missing La. teen found near Gulf Shores
GULF SHORES, AL - Authorities have recovered the body of a Louisiana teen missing in dangerous surf on the Alabama coast.
Gulf Shores police say a person riding a personal watercraft found the body in the water on Tuesday and brought it ashore near the public beach.
Police still aren't identifying the victim. But friends and a brother have identified him to media on the scene of the search as 17-year-old Chaston Brown of Ponchatoula, La.
Searchers have been looking for a distressed swimmer since he was reported missing Sunday afternoon. He was visiting the area with friends.
The weather service was reporting dangerous rip currents in the surf at the time.
