Body found in ice chest identified
SLIDELL - The St. Tammany Parish Coroner's office has identified the body recently found in an ice chest stored in a Slidell woman's home.
The coroner said the body was that of 83-year-old Charles Fisher. No cause of death has been determined.
DNA was used to identify Fisher's body. He's believed to be the father of Debra Fisher, who was arrested for unlawful disposal of human remains as well as mutilating human remains.
Authorities said the body might have been hidden inside a 160-quart ice chest for as long as two years. The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating the possiblity Fisher concealed her father's death to continue to receive his Social Security income.
