Body found in canal
BATON ROUGE - Police said they found the body of a murdered man in a Baton Rouge canal early Friday morning.
Cpl. L'Jean McKneely said they were called to investigate a disturbance the 2700 block of Cedar Ave. around 6:15 a.m. When officers arrived, they said they found blood inside the home they were called to and searched the area.
McKneely said officers found the body a few hundred yards away from the home in a canal. They said he'd been shot several times.
Investigators said they do not have a motive for the shooting. Anyone with information about it should call the Violent Crimes Unit at (225) 389-4869.
