Body found in Bayou St. John identified
NEW ORLEANS - The Orleans Parish coroner's office has identified the man whose body was pulled from Bayou St. John last week.
The Times-Picayune reports an autopsy found that 26-year-old Fredy Antonio Sanchez of New Orleans drowned.
Police say pedestrians walking along the bayou spotted him Friday. Firefighters recovered the body from the water.
John Gagliano, the coroner's chief investigator, said the autopsy found no signs of trauma to the man's body.
The coroner's office had been working to identify Sanchez, who carried no identification, since his body was discovered.
