JACKSON, Miss. - Jackson police say a body found near Butts Park may be that of a man missing since April 1.
Spokeswoman Colendula Green tells The Clarion-Ledger the body appeared to have been there for several days.
Green said a person walking the grounds found the body around 4:10 p.m. Sunday.
Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart says DNA will be used to identify the body.
Mary Chambers told the newspaper that shoes and a key ring located with the body have been identified as belonging to her son, Johnny Chambers.
Authorities say Buddy Chambers has not been seen since he left home to go to an aunt's house.
