SPRINGFIELD - The cause of a boating crash that killed a man in Livingston Parish is under investigation.
Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries agents are looking into the Dec. 5 single vessel crash that killed 68-year-old Emil Durbin of Springfield.
LDWF agents were called in about the crash on Blood River last night around 7 p.m. They found Durbin's body and his badly damaged boat around 8:15 p.m.
Agents believe that Durbin lost control of the vessel and struck a tree on the bank, ejecting him from the boat. They believe Durbin may have hit a tree as he fell into the water.
