Boat accident, Mother of three missing
ST. TAMMANY - Search and rescue crews are looking for a missing Folsom woman after a boat capsized on it in the Pearl River Saturday afternoon.
According to Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Department, Jonie R. Morgan, 31, was on the boat with her three children and a boat operator Terry J. O'Keef when the boat capsized around 5:30 p.m.
Two of the children, Morgan's 8-year-old son and 6-year-old son, were rescued and brought onto the river bank with the help of two nearby boatmen. Search crews were able to rescue Morgan's 4-year-old daughter after she popped up from under the boat.
Crews found O'Keef's body around 8 a.m. Sunday morning and are still looking for Morgan.
LDWF officials say they believe the children were the only individuals on the boat wearing life preservers.
