Board weighs how high to set standards
Educators says Louisiana's top school board is poised to approve tougher rules for public schools to
avoid state takeovers and other sanctions.
The panel has scheduled a special meeting Tuesday, in part to tackle the issue.
The minimum requirement is now 60 out of about 200.
But that minimum requirement would rise to 70 for the 2010-11 school year and 75 for the 2011-12 school year under a plan approved last month by the Louisiana School and District Accountability Commission.
