Educators says Louisiana's top school board is poised to approve tougher rules for public schools to
avoid state takeovers and other sanctions.
The panel has scheduled a special meeting Tuesday, in part to tackle the issue.
The minimum requirement is now 60 out of about 200.
But that minimum requirement would rise to 70 for the 2010-11 school year and 75 for the 2011-12 school year under a plan approved last month by the Louisiana School and District Accountability Commission.
