BATON ROUGE - Board members voted to fire the executive director of the East Baton Rouge Parish Council on Aging this morning.
Johnny Dykes was removed from the position by the council's Board of Directors with a 7 to 3 vote and one abstention, according to his attorney.
J. Arthur Smith III said the move to fire Dykes was made by board member Alfred William, who said the agency needed to go in a different direction.
Smith said his client was put on administrative leave earlier this month and was never told of any allegations against him that would lead to his firing. Smith said Dykes was exploring all his legal options.
