Regents target hundreds of degree programs for termination
BATON ROUGE - Hundreds of degree programs could be cut from universities, community colleges and technical colleges across Louisiana.
The Board of Regents released a list of more than 450 programs it identifies as having low completion rates.
LSU and Southern University could be among the big losers; LSU has 34 programs on the list, and SU has 36.
Each campus has been told which programs are under scrutiny.
The schools have until the end of February to agree to end the program, recommend consolidation or justify continuing it. Final determinations will be made by the board in April.
The Board of Regents will vote on whether to terminate the degree programs in April.
