BATON ROUGE - Two swimming pools at parks in East Baton Rouge Parish will be demolished.

The Baton Rouge Recreation and Park Commission voted voted 8-1 Wednesday night to replace the Webb Memorial Park and Jefferson Highway Park with playgrounds, a courtyard, lawn and other features.

The pools have seen declining attendance numbers and increasing maintenance costs over the past several years, according to The Advocate.
