There's a tentative deal between Blue Cross Blue Shield and the Franciscan Missionary of Our Lady Health System.

Right now details are vague, but the agreement should last 27 months. Negotiations between Blue Cross and FMOL broke down late last year when the two parties could not reach an agreement over increasing reimbursement costs.

Blue Cross Blue Shield sounded confident during Thursday night's announcement about the negotiations with the Franciscan Missionary health system. It isn't a done deal yet. There are still some details that need to be worked out between the two. Until details are ironed out, the parties have signed a memorandum of understanding.

According to Blue Cross, FMOL has agreed to take the first offer with a slight increase in reimbursement rates to cover the some of the inflation costs. The new contract should extend through April 2012.

The agreement also applies to FMOL facilities in Gonzales, Napoleonville, Lafayette, Monroe and the Tau Center of Baton Rouge.
